Refunds, Cancellations & Transfers PolicyLast Updated: July 2026The Young Africans Network for Global Goals (YANGG) is committed to transparency, accountability, and fairness in the administration of payments received through our website, programmes, events, and initiatives.This Refunds, Cancellations & Transfers Policy explains how refunds, cancellations, registration transfers, payment disputes, and payment adjustments are handled for donations, memberships, conference registrations, training programmes, and other payments made to YANGG.By making a payment to YANGG, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to this Policy.1. ScopeThis Policy applies to payments made to YANGG through our website, official payment channels, or authorised third-party payment providers, including but not limited to:DonationsMembership registrations and subscriptionsConference and summit registrationsBootcamps and training programmesWorkshops and seminarsFellowship and delegate application feesDigital products and publications (where applicable)Merchandise (where applicable)Any other paid programmes or services offered by YANGG2. DonationsAs a registered non-profit organisation, donations made to YANGG support youth leadership, entrepreneurship, innovation, advocacy, community development, education, and organisational operations.General PolicyAll donations are voluntary and are generally non-refundable.Refund requests may be considered only in the following circumstances:A duplicate donation resulting from a payment error.An incorrect donation amount caused by a technical or processing error.An unauthorised transaction reported by the account holder and verified by YANGG.Donations that have already been allocated or disbursed to programme activities, operational expenses, or partner initiatives may not be eligible for refund except where required by applicable law.Approved refunds will ordinarily be returned using the original payment method wherever reasonably possible.3. Membership FeesMembership registration fees and annual membership subscriptions are generally non-refundable once payment has been successfully processed.Refunds may only be considered where:A duplicate payment has been made.A technical or processing error resulted in an incorrect charge.Membership benefits that have already been activated or accessed are not eligible for refund.4. Conference, Summit & Programme Registration FeesRegistration fees help cover venue reservations, technology platforms, logistics, programme development, administration, participant materials, and other event commitments made before an event takes place.Because these costs are incurred in advance, refund eligibility depends on the registration category and the timing of cancellation.Fully Funded Delegate Application FeesApplication fees for fully funded delegate programmes are strictly non-refundable.Payment of the application fee covers application processing, administrative review, and selection activities only and does not guarantee selection, sponsorship, funding, or participation.Partially Funded & Self-Funded Delegate RegistrationsWritten cancellation requests received before the event may qualify for the following refunds:Cancellation PeriodRefundMore than 45 days before the event80% refund (20% administrative fee retained)30–45 days before the event50% refundLess than 30 days before the eventNo refundThis reflects the increasing operational and contractual commitments incurred as the event date approaches.Forum Access RegistrationsForum Access registrations follow the same cancellation schedule:Cancellation PeriodRefundMore than 45 days before the event80% refund30–45 days before the event50% refundLess than 30 days before the eventNo refundNo-Show PolicyParticipants who fail to attend an event without providing prior written notice of cancellation ("no-shows") are not eligible for a refund.5. Registration TransfersWhere a registered participant is unable to attend an event, YANGG may permit a one-time transfer of the registration to another eligible participant.Registration transfers:require prior written approval by YANGG;must be requested before the applicable deadline communicated for the event; andmay be subject to administrative verification or transfer requirements.Approval of registration transfers remains entirely at YANGG's discretion.6. Event Changes or Cancellation by YANGGWhere YANGG postpones, reschedules, or cancels an event, participants may, depending on the circumstances, be offered one or more of the following options:Transfer of registration to the new event date;Credit toward a future YANGG programme or event; orA full or partial refund.If an event changes from an in-person format to a virtual or hybrid format while substantially delivering the advertised programme, registration fees will generally not be refundable.7. Visa RefusalsUnless expressly stated otherwise for a specific programme or event, a visa refusal does not automatically entitle a participant to a refund.Where requested, YANGG may, at its sole discretion and upon receipt of official supporting documentation, consider:a partial refund;a credit toward a future event; ora registration transfer.8. Force MajeureYANGG shall not be liable for delays, postponements, modifications, or cancellations resulting from circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to:natural disasters;epidemics or pandemics;acts of government;war or civil unrest;terrorism;labour disputes;utility or internet outages;venue closures; orother force majeure events.Where reasonably practicable, YANGG will communicate alternative arrangements to affected participants.9. Travel & AccommodationYANGG is not responsible for:airfare;visa expenses;accommodation;transportation;travel insurance;foreign exchange losses; orany other personal expenses incurred in connection with participation in our programmes or events.Participants are encouraged to obtain appropriate travel insurance where applicable.10. Digital ProductsUnless otherwise stated, digital products, including but not limited to:online courses;downloadable publications;templates;toolkits;recordings;digital resources; andother electronic materials,are non-refundable once access has been granted or the product has been downloaded, except where required by applicable law.11. Administrative & Payment Processing FeesWhere a refund is approved, YANGG may retain any non-recoverable administrative costs, including payment gateway charges, bank fees, foreign exchange charges, taxes, and other third-party transaction costs incurred during payment processing, unless otherwise required by applicable law.12. CurrencyUnless otherwise stated, all programme fees, membership fees, registration charges, and other payments shall be payable in the currency displayed at the time of payment.Any currency conversion is handled by the payment provider or financial institution, and YANGG is not responsible for exchange rate fluctuations or related charges.13. Duplicate PaymentsIf you believe you have been charged more than once for the same transaction, please notify YANGG within 14 calendar days of the payment date.Verified duplicate payments will be refunded using the original payment method wherever reasonably possible.14. Chargebacks & Payment DisputesWe encourage participants to contact YANGG before initiating a dispute through their bank, card issuer, or payment provider so that we may attempt to resolve the matter promptly.If a payment is disputed through a bank, card issuer, or payment provider before YANGG has had an opportunity to review the matter, YANGG reserves the right to suspend the refund request, registrations, memberships, programme participation, or future transactions until the dispute has been resolved.15. Refund ProcessingApproved refunds are typically processed within 14–30 business days from the date the refund request is approved, subject to the processing times of banks, payment providers, and financial institutions.Refunds will ordinarily be made using the original payment method. Where this is not reasonably practicable, YANGG may, at its discretion, arrange an alternative refund method after verifying the identity of the recipient.16. Governing LawThis Policy shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, unless otherwise required by applicable law.Any dispute arising under this Policy shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the competent courts of Nigeria.18. Changes to this PolicyYANGG reserves the right to amend or update this Refunds, Cancellations & Transfers Policy at any time.Any revisions will be published on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date.
