As part of the Africa the Future Conference 2023, the Young Africans Network for Global Goals (YANGG) hosted the African Youth Summit 2.0 across two days, 16–17 June 2023, under the theme “Sustaining Our Future.” Convened virtually for a continent-wide and international audience, the summit advanced a bold conviction: that Africa's future lies not in distant Europe or China, but within Africa itself — and that its youth hold the key.
Hosted by Kelechi Ndieze (EVP, YANGG West Africa), with special guest and YANGG President Collins Ibeawuchi, the summit featured an international keynote from Bert-Ola Bergstrand, Chairman and Co-founder of Sweden's Social Capital Forum, and a distinguished pan-African panel spanning Nigeria, Somalia, The Gambia, and Kenya.
Together, they reframed leadership in Africa as a youth-driven project, engaging young people in conversations on sustainable development and homegrown solutions. Scheduled across West, East, and Southern African time zones, the summit reaffirmed YANGG's vision of building a better future for Africa by Africans.
