When COVID-19 upended education and jobs across the continent, YANGG's Togo Chapter answered with a bold idea: turn disruption into opportunity. From 15–18 June 2020, “Empowering Young School Leavers During and Beyond the Pandemic” brought young people face-to-face with expert facilitators from across Africa and Europe — Togo, Senegal, Cameroon, and France/DRC.
Across four days, participants built the skills that matter now: spotting pandemic-era opportunities, boosting employability through online tools and volunteer networks, sharpening digital literacy and remote collaboration, and growing the resilience to adapt and lead. The message was clear: young Africans aren't just weathering the storm — they're learning to build in it.
