As the early stages of the COVID-19 pandemic disrupted education, employment, and daily life, the Young Africans Network for Global Goals (YANGG) hosted a virtual leadership training titled “Leadership in Times of Crisis,” part of the African Youths SDGs Virtual Series. Held on 13 May 2020 via Zoom and facilitated by youth leader and international speaker Kelechi Ndieze, the session was designed to help young Africans navigate uncertainty and lead with clarity, resilience, and integrity.
The training explored authentic, ethical, and adaptive leadership — examining how misinformation and overconfidence can deepen a crisis, and why humility, emotional intelligence, and critical thinking matter most under pressure. Aligned with SDGs 3, 4, and 16, it reinforced a defining principle: leadership is rooted in service, accountability, and integrity — not status or authority.
