The Young Africans Network for Global Goals (YANGG) brought its Women and Girls Climate Conference 2025 to a successful close with a Grand Finale in Banjul, The Gambia, convening delegates, policymakers, community leaders, and youth advocates to advance inclusive climate action centred on women and girls.

Through keynote presentations, panels, and group discussions, the conference explored resilience-building, gender equality, and climate governance — positioning women and girls not as passive victims of climate change, but as essential agents of climate solutions. Sessions highlighted the disproportionate impact of the crisis on Banjul, a low-lying city at risk of submersion, and the urgent need to embed gender perspectives in national climate policy and grassroots action.

The finale drew notable leadership, including YANGG Global Vice President Mary K. Badjie, YANGG Gambia President Lamin Desmond Colley, Bloomberg's Latirr Carr, and three Banjul parliamentarians. Ten grassroots youth groups anchored the event in community action, while stakeholders committed to gender-responsive programmes and a proposed bill to anchor climate solutions in law.
