With human capital development at the heart of its mission, the Young Africans Network for Global Goals (YANGG) launched the YANGG Leadership Academy in 2024 — an ambitious capacity-building initiative dedicated to equipping young African leaders to champion the continent's transformation. The Academy carries a bold long-term goal: to train one million African youths as viable and sustainable leaders.

Held on 30–31 May 2024, the inaugural session welcomed the first 100 leaders selected for Cohort One, offered with full scholarships and certification — the first concrete step toward that one-million ambition.

Hosted by Kelechi Ndieze, President of YANGG, the first cohort was led by two distinguished trainers: Basiru Jaye, Programme Officer for ICT and Innovation at The Gambia's National Youth Council, and Arslan Akbutin from the United Kingdom, Vice-Chair of the Young Members Equality Committee at Equity Union. Their sessions combined practical leadership development with a global, cross-cultural perspective.
